- April 8, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY Harvey William Tedford, loving husband,
father, papa, coach and friend, passed away April 8th, 2018 in Oklahoma
City. Harvey was 87 years old. He was born January 20th, 1931 to Henry and
Velesta Tedford in Geary, Oklahoma. Harvey graduated from Geary High School
and then went on to earn a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education.
During this time, he met his beautiful wife Helen Tedford. They married and
had two children, Nancy and Darin. Harvey attended exercise therapy school
at Fort Sam Houston where he finished in the top 10 of his class. He became
a exercise therapist at Brook Army Hospital and finished first on the Army
Physical Fitness Test. Harvey was a teacher, coach and athletic director at
Classen High School for 17 years. He gave numerous presentations over the
years to administrators, teachers and students on health and physical
education. Harvey then went to work for the Oklahoma State Department of
Education as an Administrator for Comprehensive Health in which he retired
after 17 years. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Helen; and his daughter, Nancy. Harvey is survived by his son, Darin and
wife Shannon; his sisters, Bernyce Wanzor and Pauline Belden; granddaughter,
Kinsey; grandson, Dalton; and numerous friends. There will be no services.
