Guy A. Bryant, 64, was born August 3, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee. He died on November 9, 2006 in Oklahoma
City. Guy moved to Oklahoma City at age 9. He graduated from Classen High School in 1960. Guy married
Joan Nykl on October 19, 1963. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in accounting from Central State University
in 1974. Guy worked at Kerr-McGee Corp. for 32 years, beginning as a payroll accountant and serving as
manager of the payroll department before ultimately moving into the information technology department.
He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1962 to 1970. He also served as scoutmaster of Boy Scout
Troop 168 from 1979 to 1981, and later served on the district committee of the Dan Beard District of
the Last Frontier Council in Oklahoma City. He received the District Award of Merit and other commendations
for his work organizing Emergency Alert and Camporee programs for the Dan Beard District. Guy served
as treasurer and then president of the Bluff Creek Neighborhood Association for many years. Guy was a
member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, William W. Bryant,
Jr. and Dorothy Armstrong Bryant. Guy is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home; a son, Tod and his
wife Jennifer and their son, William; a daughter, Lisa; and a brother, William W. III. His beloved grandson
William was his partner in many after school adventures and woodworking projects. He was also a staunch
supporter and fan of Oklahoma State University football. Services for Guy will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday,
November 13, 2006 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Ave., Reverend Robert Rose will be officiating.
