Shelby Monroe Scott, 63, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005, unexpectedly from a heart attack. He was
born December 27, 1941 in Oklahoma City to Walter M. and Alice M. (Porch) Scott. He attended Classen
High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years. He owned Scott's Construction of Oklahoma City
for over 35 years. He was in the process of retiring to his lake home. Shelby loved the lake, fishing,
car racing and snow skiing. He was involved in prison Ministry and provided Christian literature to many.
He was active during his life with several Oklahoma City and Yukon churches and was attending Texoma
Southern Baptist Church. He was also an organ donor. He will be greatly missed by many. He is survived
by wife: Annette Scott, Kingston, Oklahoma; mother: Alice M. Scott, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; children:
Shelly Scott, Ft. Worth, Texas, Butch Scott, Memphis, Tennessee, Susan Sheppred, Memphis, Tennessee,
Brenda Woodall, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; stepchildren: Jason Blackburn, Overland Park, Kansas, Lindsey
Alonzo, Ft. Worth, Texas, Donald King, Owensboro, Kentucky, Chad King, Ada, Oklahoma, Greg King, Ada,
Oklahoma, Jeff King, Ada, Oklahoma, Kenneth Matthews, Ft. Belvore, Virginia, Bea Kay Northcutt, Carrollton,
Texas; sisters: Cynthia & Islo Ashmore, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Karen & Larry Bowman, Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma. Shelby was preceded in death by his father: Walter M. Scott. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations be made to the Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary, P.O. Box 2200, Ft. Worth, Texas
76112. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Texoma Baptist Church, Bumcombe
Creek, Oklahoma. Ron Boling will officiate the services. Music arranged by Glenn & Janice Reese. Services
under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma. Services Friday 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams
Funeral Home in Bethany, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Bethany, Oklahoma.
