Subsequently graduated from George Washington University, Washington D.C., with M.S. in Industrial Engineering. Worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for a few years. Served 23 years as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Full Colonel. Was stationed all over the world, including three separate assignments at the Pentagon. Retired and accepted a political appointment from the Secretary of Defense as a member of the Senior Executive Service Corps, again at the Pentagon. Retired and returned to Oklahoma City to be supportive of elderly parents. Accepted an appointment from Governor Keating as State Purchasing Director and served approximately two years. Am now fully retired and living in the Oklahoma City area. Hobbies include home and yard projects, researching and authoring family history/genealogy projects, mentoring young people particularly those in my family, assisting elderly/disabled Veterans in understanding and obtaining their benefits and privileges, strumming my guitar and singing out of tune, traveling to favorite spots in this great country of ours, staying in touch with old friends and making a few new ones, and I'm still working on growing older with grace and humor. |
