Margaret Ann ‘Peggy’ Miller Peggy Miller, who lived east of
Stillwater in Payne County, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005. A simple memorial service was scheduled
for 3 p.m. today in the pasture near her home close to the final resting place of her beloved horses,
Cupid and Bay Boy. Anyone who knew and loved Peggy is invited to attend and celebrate her loving
and all too brief life. Miller was born in Oklahoma City to Elmer Ray and Louise Stephenson Prag.
She was a media specialist with the Oklahoma City Public School system. She earned her bachelor’s degree
at Oklahoma State University and her master’s degree at Mansfield State University. She also completed
enough additional graduate work to qualify her for certification as a media specialist and a k-12 school
counselor. She started her lifelong career as a teacher in Guymon. While her husband was in the
military, which required frequent relocation, she had the opportunity to teach in several states.
One of the highlights of her teaching career was the opportunity to teach juvenile literature at
Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill. Miller and her husband, Ron, have lived in Payne County
east of Stillwater since 1976. Her love and kindness for people was equaled only by her love and kindness
for animals, especially the love she had for her horses, Cupid and Bay Boy, and her dachshunds Gretchen,
Sweetie and Misty. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Edward Elmer Prag and
Kenneth Stuart Prag. She is survived by her husband, of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-
law, Betty and Don McMullen of Murrieta, Calif., and Grace Eileen and George Mallinckrodt of Oklahoma
City; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Lee Miller, Clearwater, Fla.; her mother-in-law, Josephine Ellenberg Miller
of Clearwater, Fla.; a niece, Crystal Joy Prag of Woodbridge, Calif.; a nephew, Russell Stephenson Prag
of Woodbridge, Calif.; an aunt, Dorthy Alvena Prag of Oklahoma City; several other nieces and nephews,
James Edward Prag, Mark Edward Haenchen, Steven Lee Haenchen, Ronald Dale Haenchen, Sandra Lawson, Tamara
Jean Gavaletz, David James McMullen; and many friends.
