The HONOLULU ADVERTISER has a trivia question in the sports section every day.  The following is from the November 14 paper.

Question:  How did the phrase "America's Team," which refers to the Dallas Cowboys, originate?

Answer:    It came from the Dallas Cowboys 1979 highlight reel when NFL Films executive Bob Ryan and
then Cowboys public relations director Doug Todd were trying to come up with a moniker.  They
rejected "U.S. Cowboys," "Champions Die Hard," and "Cowboys a National Team."
